Truckee & Tahoe City Support, Logistics and Server
The Ice Cream Trucks, located both in Truckee and Tahoe City, need to be stocked, serviced and sometimes moved for events. This position starts and ends the day in Truckee and requires driving the company vehicle to both of the ice cream trailers 4 days a week. From the shop at Donne Lake, the van needs to be filled with the needed ice cream and other supplies to bring out to both trailers. Once at the trailers, the ice cram will be loaded into the trailers along with other needed items such as cups, cones, napkins, drinks and other utensils. The used tubs are loaded into the van to bring back to the shop for proper cleaning.
On Sundays, and some other random days in the summer we vend ice cream at events including music at Commons Beach, Truckee Thursdays and the Air show in Truckee. We hope the support staff will help serve ice cream at these events. This is where the tips are paid on top of the hourly wage.
Pay
$20 hr. + plus tips (overtime based on 4 x 10 hr shifts)
Duties include:
- Start day at Truckee Shop Location
- Stocking the Van with ice cream and other items needed at the trailer for the days opening.
- Driving the Company Van to Truckee and Tahoe City to Open and Stock the Trailer
- Serving Ice Cream and other goodies with supporting staff when needed.
- Keep the trailer organized and Clean
- Clean and inventory the trailer before closing. (required filling water tank and draining grey water tank).
- Drive the Van back to Truckee, unload the used ice cream tubs and get the van ready for the next day by loading in non frozen items
Applicants should be available Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day Weekend
(4 days a week) roughly 11:00am-10:00 pm (30 minute break off the clock required by state law).
Applicant should be customer service oriented and comfortable interacting with the public. Must be able to lift 35lb and Step in an out of the van and trailer. Forward thinker with good problem solving skills a plus.
Requirements
18+ years old with own transportation.Willing to work alone or with others.
Social and Customer service oriented personality
Clean Drivers record (to be eligible for insurance policy)
Must be able to lift 35lbs and load tubs of ice cream into the freezers.
Willing to clean and keep the store organized
Food handlers Card required within 30 days of starting the job (easy to take course online)
We prefer applicant to live in Truckee, but not necessarily required.
